HUD (Housing and Urban Development) Funded Shelter Plus Program Shelter Plus “(S+C) is designed to link rental assistance to supportive services for hard-to-serve homeless persons with disabilities and their families.”

Part of the HUD Shelter plus program requirements include having a not-for profit housing sponsor that owns or coordinates leasing of housing for program participants and a network of supportive services providers. PCHO acts as this sponsor for some of the individuals and families receiving Shelter Plus through the Rochester Housing Authority. Currently PCHO provides Shelter Plus sponsorship and on-going case management for 31 individuals (5 women, 22 men and 4 families).
